1. I already took Śrī Vidyā diksha from another guru or another parampara. Do I have to do anything before I start the 40 days practice?
Yes, it is extremely important that you talk to your earlier guru or guru parampara and take their permission before you begin the 40 days practice. It is not good to change gurus unless you genuinely feel and don't resonate with their teachings and practices.
And if your earlier guru is not agreeing to let you go, please don't try to hide that you took diksha already but be honest about it and hopefully something can be sorted out. In cases like this please reach out to us soon.
2. Can I take up just one or two practices and do them for a period of 40 days and then take up the rest and do them for next 40 days?
You could do but this will delay your enrollment in the next Online Beginner's Course as assessment for qualifying the candidates will cover all the practices mentioned in Starter Regime. If you think you prefer to do it with diligence and are fine with the spreading the practices over multiples of 40 days by all means do so. You can follow the recommendation below:
- First 40 Days: Prāṇa Pratiṣṭha and Virajā Homa
- Next 40 Days: Kuṇḍalinī Meditation and Yoga Nidra
- Next 40 Days: Śrī Cakra drawing
3. Where can I find Sarasvatī mantra in Telugu and Devanāgarī?
https://forum.amritananda.org/d/170-alphabet-body-and-saraswati-mantra-by-guruji-audio/5
4. Do I have to chant Sarasvatī mantra for the full 40 days?
There's no requirement for it to be chanted for 40 days. However, we do encourage beginners to chant her mantras (Vedic and the alphabet) since She's the Goddess of Learning and her blessing would be a great help for a person who undertakes these courses.
Furthermore, chanting the alphabet will also help one down the line when one comes to the practice of Ṣaṭcakra Japa which is taught in Beginner's Course.
5. I have challenges with visualization and I am not sure if I'm doing it correctly.
Visualization is a process which can't be assessed by anyone but yourself so do your best and with practice you will improve it. Also, this is an important skill to acquire on the path of Śrī Vidyā.
6. Is there an instructional video for Kuṇḍalinī Meditation?
No, just follow the instruction of Guruji and do your best. You will know you are doing it correctly by the way you feel after few sessions.
7. What do I do with the drawn Śrī Cakra images?
Guruji recommended to share drawn Śrī Cakras with others and by doing that we will invite abundance into our lives.
8. If I miss a day or two due to unavoidable circumstances, do I have to start all over again?
It is ok to miss a day or two but this should not become a norm. When you miss the practices for a day or two you can visualize doing the practices internally.
9. Are the Starter Regime and Sacred Vāk PDFs available in Devanāgarī, Telugu and Hindi?
We are working towards providing the same at the earliest.
10. I have completed 40 days of practice. What do I do next?
You can continue all the practices or pick up the one which resonated with you and continue till the next Online Beginner's Course is announced.
11. When will the next Online Beginner's Course be announced?
The announcement will be done in the Telegram group - Starters Regime Sri Vidya Online course Devipuram and also here. And it is not possible to know the dates of the next course months in advance.
The best you can do is to know if a batch is currently underway or a new batch is starting soon but still you are in your 40 days practice, you can mark the tentative end date of the batch (in the above two cases) and keep checking the Telegram messages regularly after the tentative end date so that you don't miss out.
12. When will the next Residential Beginner's Course be announced so that I can plan in advance as I live outside India?
Residential courses are conducted as per the availability of instructors and also when no major event is planned at Devipuram, so knowing the dates well in advance is not possible but few weeks' notice is always given.
13. What is the cost of residential course?
For the cost, please write to info@devipuram.org
If your query is not answered here, please post it here or in the Telegram group.
