Online Etiquette Guidelines:
The Forum is an interactive form of communication. If all users agree to follow a few principles of civility and professionalism, the forum can be a great opportunity to express opinions, share ideas, and receive feedback from other Sadhakas.
To facilitate your use of the Discussion Board, please review these guidelines.
A. GENERAL
(A1). Posting in the forum is accessible to all registered participants. Your user details (as given during registration) will be used for posting – no anonymity is allowed.
(A2). If there are any technical issues with respect to posting, replying or viewing threads in the discussion forum, kindly get in touch with our Technical Support team (forum@devipuram.org).
(A3). Once posted, a discussion goes live and cannot be edited/deleted by you – so think twice (if needed read your content aloud) before posting.
B. CONTENT
(B1). You can engage in the discussion forums by:
Starting your own new discussion thread. Please note that we encourage you to check if there is already an existing thread (started by another learner) on the same topic that you wish to post on. Only if such a relevant thread is absent, should you start a new thread (post) yourself. The purpose is to encourage conversation among peer learner.
Replying to an existing discussion thread started by the admin, moderator or other users.
(B2). Read everything in the discussion thread before replying. This will help you avoid repeating something someone else has already contributed.
(B3). Only post content relevant to the topics. Any other content which is found to be unsuitable or irrelevant will be deleted
(B4). Remember that the content you post is viewed publicly.
(B5). You are encouraged to share content that you deem useful to other Sadhakas.
(B6). Please remember to cite sources as applicable.
(B7). If you choose to copy content from this site and use its media, please don't forget to give proper credit and citations.
C. LANGUAGE/WRITING STYLE
(C1). Pay considerable attention to the language used and your writing style while posting online. Excessive use of acronyms, emoticons and typical texting phrases (used in SMS) is discouraged.
(C2). UPPER CASE is not allowed since it is considered equivalent to shouting.
(C3). The message you type may appear clear to you, but not so to the reader who is not in front of you at the time of reading. One way to avoid misinterpretation is to read out your post loudly to make sure it conveys the correct meaning before posting.
(C4). Respect your peers. Even if you disagree or differ with an opinion expressed online, do so using appropriate language and do not, under any circumstance, get personal.
(C5). Positive and critical feedback is good – but criticizing for the sake of it using negative and/or abusive language will not be tolerated.
(C6). Be brief, concise and to the point without being preachy or pompous.
(C7). Remember that in a virtual learning environment, participants come from diverse geographies and cultures. Be sensitive to that.
D. SPAM/IRRELEVANT/CLUTTER POSTS WHICH WILL BE DELETED
(D1). Stay on topic: Don’t post irrelevant links, comments, thoughts, or pictures. Any content which is found to be unsuitable or irrelevant will be deleted.
(D2). Avoid making "Thanks for sharing!" type of post when thanking someone. These kinds of posts will be deleted since they clutter the space and don't add any value to the discussion. Instead please use the like button.
(D3). Pictures with inspirational quotes
(D4). Random links
(D5). Unsolicited marketing.
