Judging from the description it's very similar to the process of controlling of the 8 Matrikas in the 1st Avarana of Śrī Cakra, which Guruji described in "Understanding of Śrī Cakra Pūjā"
Our five senses enable us to interact with the world, leading to pleasant as well as unpleasant experiences, which agitate the mind. These diverse agitations are represented by the “Little Mothers” (Mātṝkā Śaktīs) who inhabit the second wall of the bhūpura. The gestures (Mudra Śaktīs), which help us to overcome these disturbing influences, are represented within the third wall of the bhūpura. The attainments (Siddhīs) that we attain by controlling these disturbing influences are represented within the first wall of the bhūpura.
I'm not aware of the mapping of Mudra Śaktis to the Pashas. The complication arises due to the fact that there are 10 mudras and 8 pashas.
