I would like to share an anecdote of a person who benefitted from just one mantra of the 1,000 names in Lalitā Sahasranāmam (LS) as narrated by Bhrahmasri Samavedam Shanmukha Sharma garu in one of his spiritual discourses about LS.
One old gentleman got a mantra from someone and he started chanting sincerely and very quickly he developed astral vision, he could see the beings from astral dimension clearly. And one lizard like creature latched on to this old man and was with him all the time round the clock. Only when he entered any temple the creature waited outside for him to come back and then again latched onto him. He used to carry food and put the food outside so that it would eat the food and stay away from him for a while and people around him used to think the old man had gone crazy wasting food and leaving the food everywhere. He contacted several spiritual adepts to help him to get rid of this lizard like creature but no one could succeed and finally someone suggested to go see such and such Śrī Vidyā upasaka. He did and the Śrī Vidyā upasaka gave him one mantra from LS and told him to the put a photograph of Lalitā Devī and chant the mantra daily. And while he was chanting the creature used to sit at a corner unable to come close to him and finally after few days a small ray of light came from Devī's forehead (third-eye) and turned the creature into ashes. The old man witnessed everything as it happened right in front of his eyes.
