Bālā Tripurasundarī is Lalitā depicted as a young girl, from around three years old up to about nine years old. As a result, the mantra of Bālā Tripurasundarī can be said in three ways:
1. aim klīm sauḥ
2. aim klīm sauḥ sauḥ klīm aim
3. aim klīm sauḥ sauḥ klīm aim aim klīm sauḥ
In the first, Bālājī is three years old; in the second, she is six; and in the third she is nine. The nine-year-old form of Bālājī is my guru. It was she who demanded that the Sri Meru temple be built, and she who got it done.
The Samayācāra traditions we follow come to us from the divya paramparā (divine lineage)—that is, through Bālājī: Bālā Tripurasundarī herself, who is our guru.
