TRADITIONAL LIFE IN THE ILLUSIONARY ECSTASY
Time has no beginning, no end, and no emotion.
The wrath of Time is ruthless. We mundane beings are all prisoners of time. Time creates the windows to execute and closes these windows, flowing callously, as we humans exercise and experience emotional joy and emotional melancholy, born of the nature of our sensory organs, ignorant to the absolute truth, and dwell in the illusionary world created by our own minds. The mind thinks and the body acts. Values instilled in us are to obtain a professional degree, acquire a good employment and have a happy family. Least do we know happiness is beyond the boundaries of these traditional objectives. Memories, bonds, and actions are flakes that dissolve in the mortal realm of time. Consciously or unconsciously, we humans choose to bond; we choose what to remember and what not to remember. Regardless of the flow of time, we rejoice on delightful memories and bonds, while we disdain on hurtful memories and bonds. Neither makes any difference to the flow of time. Overcoming these memories and bonds is essential for freedom.
Conversely, time is very gracious and kind. The continuum of time coherently provides a window of progression for each of us. With the grace and guidance of the GURU, the pathway to self-realization is open as a window to rid ourselves from the prison of time and illusion.
THE DAWN WASHES AWAY THE DARKNESS
The GURU plays the chaste role in guiding the disciple to overcome these barriers, to experience the pristine truth and the perineal supreme bliss. Sometimes we make choices. There are times when choices are made for us and make us, thus the ordaining of the GURU to a disciple. It is the grace showered by The Almighty (one may call this the deity of choice) choosing the GURU for us. Much like the Earth and the sky, this ordainment is endless, inseparable, and infinite. Kindness, compassion and genuine concern for your welfare are the characteristics of your GURU.
Whether or not we honor the grace is our choice. We have the choice to be what we want to be; we are the master of our own destiny. The GURU’s grace is focused on bringing clarity by guiding the disciple to rid of the insatiable karmic sediment; chipping away the murky karmic burdens, unshackling from the bonds, memories, and earthly desires.; give hope; hope to revive our pure thought and act. The disciple will strive with unyielding confidence, grace, dignity and resilience, to keep alive the very possibility of completing these tasks. Change is constant and we can change with dedication and devotion. Recognize our challenges and opportunities. There's a lot of beauty in it; there's a lot of pain in it, too, a lot of struggle.
THE BEAUTY IS BORN
GURU doesn't change who we are........
Race, age, caste or religion identities has no relevance in the Guru’s world. GURU reveals who we are by uncloaking the disguise we wear; he summons our better judgment and awaken our pristine instincts. Be a part of nature and not be apart from nature; be a part of the truth and not apart from the truth; be a part of the community and not apart from the community. There is the revelation that not variety exists whatsoever: what I see is what I am. Realize and experience total inclusiveness.
Barriers might seem steep but the GURU’s guidance makes the disciple leap over it; he instills the meanings and worth of empathy and inclusiveness; relieves the bonds of misery, barriers and contempt inebriated by the illusionary ambiance that we created and live in. When one closes out the noise and the fear and truly open themselves, we know what is right. The Guru guides the disciple to attain the joyful mind and infinite unconditional love.
..........Guru makes us change who we are!
INVALUABLE CONVERSATION
One sunny morning at Devipuram I was talking to my Parama Guru (Sri la Sri Amirtananda Natha Saraswathi) when He smiled at me and asked why disciples bother giving him gifts like clothes, cash etc. I replied it was of showing gratitude. He replied, "well it is ok that for one to give these but I will survive even if no one gives me these".
I was a little taken aback but looked at him inquiringly for clarification. He knew my thoughts and told me what one could gift the Guru is something that will give the Guru eternal happiness and that is all what all Gurus expect from the disciples. Now, that was too much for me to digest as I was thinking of something of a materialistic form. I looked at him somewhat stunned. He smiled and told me Guru’s objective is like any other project. The project has to be completed successfully to make him happy. Now I had to come up with the right answer as to the objective of the Guru – Disciple project! He let me stew for about ten minutes and knowing very well the answer was out of my reach he decided to answer it for me. He said the best gift you could give your Guru is for the disciple to eventually become your own Guru! “That is the best gift you could give your Guru” he said (not to be mistaken as becoming a Guru; but achieving a state to reason with pristine logic and realize within oneself the universal truth of oneness).
Unraveling the depth of his statement he implied with diligent perseverance and following the guidelines from the Guru we will recognize the divine and realize our inner self, total inclusiveness, empathy, and the perineal supreme bliss. When the disciple reaches this stage in evolution the Guru accepts this state of the disciple as the best gift!
