श्री राधा-कृपा-कटाक्ष-स्तव-राज
PRAYER FOR THE MERCIFUL SIDELONG GLANCE OF SRI RADHA
from the Ūrdhvāmnāya-Tantra spoken by Lord Siva to Mother Parvati

मुनीन्द्र–वृन्द–वन्दिते त्रिलोक–शोक–हारिणि प्रसन्न-वक्त्र-पण्कजे निकुञ्ज-भू-विलासिनि ।
व्रजेन्द्र–भानु–नन्दिनि व्रजेन्द्र–सूनु–संगते कदा करिष्यसीह मां कृपाकटाक्ष–भाजनम् ॥१॥
O You who are worshiped by the host of the best of sages, O remover of the sorrows of the three worlds, O You whose lotus face is ever-blooming with joy, O enjoyer of the forest groves! O daughter of King Vrishabhanu, O eternal companion of the Prince of Vraja! When, oh when, will You make me the object of Your side-long glance of mercy?

अशोक–वृक्ष–वल्लरी वितान–मण्डप–स्थिते प्रवालबाल–पल्लव प्रभारुणांघ्रि–कोमले ।
वराभयस्फुरत्करे प्रभूतसम्पदालये कदा करिष्यसीह मां कृपाकटाक्ष–भाजनम् ॥२॥
You are seated within a pavilion under a canopy of Ashoka trees and creepers. Your soft feet radiate a crimson glow like that of young coral or fresh leaves. Your hands shine with the gestures of granting boons and fearlessness, and You are the abode of boundless wealth. When will You make me the object of Your side-long glance of mercy?

अनङ्ग-रण्ग मङ्गल-प्रसङ्ग-भङ्गुर-भ्रुवां सविभ्रमं ससम्भ्रमं दृगन्त–बाणपातनैः ।
निरन्तरं वशीकृतप्रतीतनन्दनन्दने कदा करिष्यसीह मां कृपाकटाक्ष–भाजनम् ॥३॥
On the auspicious stage of amorous play, with the playful and agitated movement of Your curved eyebrows, You shoot the arrows of Your glancing eyes. By this, You have completely and constantly enchanted and brought under Your control the famous Son of Nanda. When will You make me the object of Your side-long glance of mercy?

तडित्–सुवर्ण–चम्पक –प्रदीप्त–गौर–विग्रहे मुख–प्रभा–परास्त–कोटि–शारदेन्दुमण्डले ।
विचित्र-चित्र सञ्चरच्चकोर-शाव-लोचने कदा करिष्यसीह मां कृपाकटाक्ष–भाजनम् ॥४॥
Your fair form is as brilliant as lightning, molten gold, and the Champaka flower. The radiance of Your face defeats the beauty of millions of autumn moons. Your wonderful eyes are as restless as young Chakora birds. When will You make me the object of Your side-long glance of mercy?

मदोन्मदाति–यौवने प्रमोद–मान–मण्डिते प्रियानुराग–रञ्जिते कला–विलास – पण्डिते ।
अनन्यधन्य–कुञ्जराज्य–कामकेलि–कोविदे कदा करिष्यसीह मां कृपाकटाक्ष–भाजनम् ॥५॥
You are intoxicated by the peak of Your youth, adorned with the beautiful "mana" of joy, and colored by the deep love of Your Beloved. You are a scholar in the arts of grace and the most skilled in the love-pastimes of the uniquely blessed kingdom of the kunjas. When will You make me the object of Your side-long glance of mercy?

अशेष–हावभाव–धीरहीरहार–भूषिते प्रभूतशातकुम्भ–कुम्भकुम्भि–कुम्भसुस्तनि ।
प्रशस्तमन्द–हास्यचूर्ण पूर्णसौख्य –सागरे कदा करिष्यसीह मां कृपाकटाक्ष–भाजनम् ॥६॥
You are adorned with diamond necklaces and all the various amorous gestures. Your beautiful breasts are like golden jars or the frontal globes of a king elephant. You are an ocean of complete happiness, filled with the essence of Your own excellent, gentle smile. When will You make me the object of Your side-long glance of mercy?

मृणाल-वाल-वल्लरी तरङ्ग-रङ्ग-दोर्लते लताग्र–लास्य–लोल–नील–लोचनावलोकने ।
ललल्लुलन्मिलन्मनोज्ञ–मुग्ध–मोहिनाश्रिते कदा करिष्यसीह मां कृपाकटाक्ष–भाजनम् ॥७॥
Your arms are like tender lotus stalks, dancing like creepers upon the waves. Your restless, dark-eyed glance is like the dancing tip of a vine. You are the charming, playful enchantress who is the sole refuge of the Enchanter Krishna when He is bewildered by love. When will You make me the object of Your side-long glance of mercy?

सुवर्णमलिकाञ्चित –त्रिरेख–कम्बु–कण्ठगे त्रिसूत्र–मङ्गली-गुण–त्रिरत्न-दीप्ति–दीधिते ।
सलोल–नीलकुन्तल–प्रसून–गुच्छ–गुम्फिते कदा करिष्यसीह मां कृपाकटाक्ष–भाजनम् ॥८॥
Your conch-like neck, marked with three lines, is adorned with golden necklaces. Your auspicious triple-threaded wedding string shines with the brilliance of three jewels. Your restless dark tresses are interwoven with clusters of flowers. When will You make me the object of Your side-long glance of mercy?

नितम्ब–बिम्ब–लम्बमान–पुष्पमेखलागुणे प्रशस्तरत्न-किङ्किणी-कलाप-मध्य मञ्जुले ।
करीन्द्र–शुण्डदण्डिका–वरोहसौभगोरुके कदा करिष्यसीह मां कृपाकटाक्ष–भाजनम् ॥९॥
A waistband of flowers hangs from Your rounded hips. Your slender waist is charmingly adorned with a belt of exquisite jeweled bells. Your thighs possess the beauty of the tapering trunk of a king elephant. When will You make me the object of Your side-long glance of mercy?

अनेक–मन्त्रनाद–मञ्जु नूपुरारव–स्खलत् समाज–राजहंस–वंश–निक्वणाति–गौरवे ।
विलोलहेम–वल्लरी–विडम्बिचारु–चङ्क्रमे कदा करिष्यसीह मां कृपाकटाक्ष–भाजनम् ॥१०॥
The tinkling of Your ankle-bells is as sweet as the sound of many mantras, surpassing the majestic warbling of a flock of royal swans. Your beautiful gait mocks the grace of a swaying golden creeper. When will You make me the object of Your side-long glance of mercy?

अनन्त–कोटइ–विष्णुलोक–नम्र–पद्मजार्चिते हिमाद्रिजा–पुलोमजा–विरिञ्चजा-वरप्रदे ।
अपार–सिद्धि–ऋद्धि–दिग्ध–सत्पदाङ्गुली-नखे कदा करिष्यसीह मां कृपाकटाक्ष–भाजनम् ॥११॥
You are worshiped by the bowed head of Brahma and the residents of millions of Vaikuntha planets. You grant boons to Parvati, Shachi, and Saraswati. Boundless perfections and opulence are found in the very nails of Your holy toes. When will You make me the object of Your side-long glance of mercy?

मखेश्वरि क्रियेश्वरि स्वधेश्वरि सुरेश्वरि त्रिवेद–भारतीश्वरि प्रमाण–शासनेश्वरि ।
रमेश्वरि क्षमेश्वरि प्रमोद–काननेश्वरि व्रजेश्वरि व्रजाधिपे श्रीराधिके नमोऽस्तु ते ॥१२॥
O Goddess of sacrifice, of pious activities, of the ancestral offerings, and of the demigods! O Goddess of the knowledge of the three Vedas, and the supreme ruler of law! O Goddess of fortune, of forgiveness, and of the forest of bliss! O Queen of Vraja! O Sovereign of Vraja! O Shri Radhika, I offer my humble obeisances unto You.

इती ममद्भुतं-स्तवं निशम्य भानुनन्दिनी करोतु सन्ततं जनं कृपाकटाक्ष-भाजनम् ।
भवेत्तदैव सञ्चित त्रिरूप–कर्म नाशनं लभेत्तदा व्रजेन्द्र–सूनु–मण्डल–प्रवेशनम् ॥१३॥
Upon hearing this wonderful hymn, may the Daughter of Vrishabhanu constantly make this person the object of Her side-long glance of mercy. At that very moment, all three types of accumulated karma are destroyed, and one attains entrance into the eternal pastimes of the Son of the King of Vraja.

राकायां च सिताष्टम्यां दशम्यां च विशुद्धधीः । एकादश्यां त्रयोदश्यां यः पठेत्साधकः सुधीः ॥१४॥
यं यं कामयते कामं तं तमाप्नोति साधकः । राधाकृपाकटाक्षेण भक्तिःस्यात् प्रेमलक्षणा ॥१५॥
The wise practitioner who recites this with a pure mind on the full moon day, the eighth day of the bright fortnight, or the tenth, eleventh, and thirteenth days, attains whatever desire they harbor. By the side-long glance of Radha's mercy, they attain devotional service characterized by pure love.

ऊरुदघ्ने नाभिदघ्ने हृद्दघ्ने कण्ठदघ्नके । राधाकुण्डजले स्थिता यः पठेत् साधकः शतम् ॥१६॥
तस्य सर्वार्थ सिद्धिः स्याद् वाक्सामर्थ्यं तथा लभेत् । ऐश्वर्यं च लभेत् साक्षाद्दृशा पश्यति राधिकाम् ॥१७॥
That practitioner who stands in the water of Radha-kunda up to the thighs, navel, chest, or neck and recites this hymn one hundred times attains the perfection of all goals and gains the power of speech. They obtain great opulence and receive the direct vision of Shri Radhika with their own eyes.

तेन स तत्क्षणादेव तुष्टा दत्ते महावरम् । येन पश्यति नेत्राभ्यां तत् प्रियं श्यामसुन्दरम् ॥१८॥
Because of that recitation, She becomes pleased at that very moment and grants a great boon, by which one sees with their own eyes Her beloved, Shyamasundara.

नित्यलीला–प्रवेशं च ददाति श्री-व्रजाधिपः । अतः परतरं प्रार्थ्यं वैष्णवस्य न विद्यते ॥१९॥
Then the Lord of Vraja grants entrance into the eternal pastimes. Beyond this, there is nothing further to be prayed for by a Vaishnava.
