37) Aruṇaruṇa-kausumbha-vastra-bhāsvat-kaṭītaṭī
Śrī Devi wears an extremely red cloth covering the region below the waist. The so-called ultra modern form of wearing the saree below the level of the three lines which themselves are below the navel is well known to Lalitā! The further emanations of Lalitā below the levels of triputi are purely physical, subject to the laws of space, time, causality; they obscure more and more the light of God from Himself by physical attractions and repulsions, all of which have the deep red colour of passionate love, lust and anger. This cloth coloured deep red therefore covers the primary source, the womb of the universe and the individual. Kindly notice that above the navel, in the realm of truth, there can be no covering.
