Pranapratishta is a part of the Śrī Yantra puja. Perhaps someone in your family can guide you in your ancestral practice for worship at some point more advanced classes will be available here online. The Khadgamala Stotram is also another good practice for worship of the Meru.

Prāṇa Pratiṣṭhā Mantra

oṃ aiṃ hrīṃ śrīṃ āṃ hrīṃ kroṃ
yaṃ raṃ laṃ vaṃ śaṃ ṣaṃ saṃ haṃ  
oṃ haṃsaḥ so’haṃ so’haṃ haṃsaḥ śivaḥ 
śrī cakrasya śrī lalitāyāḥ
mama prāṇāḥ iha prāṇāḥ
mama jīva iha sthitaḥ
mama sarvendriyāṇi vāṅ manaḥ cakṣur śrotra 
jihvā ghrāṇa vāk pāṇi pāda pāyu
upasthaliṅgāṇi ihaiva āgatya asmin dehe
sukhaṃ ciraṃ tiṣṭhantu svāhā
oṁ asunīte, punarasmāsu cakṣuḥ,
punaḥ prāṇam ihano dhehi bhogam
jyok paṣyema sūryam uccarantam-
anumate-mṛḍayānaḥ svasti
amṛtaṃ vai prāṇāḥ amṛtam āpaḥ
prāṇān eva yathāsthānam upāhvayate
prāṇa pratiṣṭhāpana muhūrtaḥ sumuhūrto astu
asmin sumuhūrte adityādi navānām
gṛhānām atyanta anukulyata sahita śubha
dṛśtir astu lokāḥ samastāḥ sukhino bhavantu

Guruji on invoking life in prāṇapratiṣṭhā

…Then the devotee would invoke ‘life’ into the external object, idol or a yantra, (When the relevant mantras are repeated the devotee will have to concentrate on the respective bījakṣaras of the petals on the cakras. If the invoking of ‘life’ is performed successfully one would see a ray of light travel from within oneself out to the object and return through the left eye of the individual).

In reality a circuit is formed between the devotee and the external object. For this external object to be able to communicate to the devotee the sensory nodes etc. of this object are activated by giving life (prāṇa) to each petal.
